Do you
see me when you see what you see when yo u look at me? 'Cause if
what you see is me when you look at me then you know about my
ancestral history. Black men teaching me to be strong. Black women
supporting their teachings with, "believe them," they are not
wrong, even though the struggle has been long.
Do you see me
when you see what you see when you look at me? 'Cause if what you
see is me when you look at me, then you know about my ability to
survive. My heritage full of pride, the struggle to stay alive, the
knowledge I must provide, opportunities gained and denied, black on
black homicide, uncalled for suicide, love (because God is love)
never put aside.
If . . . it is me that you see when you look
at me,
then give God the glory for sharing the story and
you the exploratory .
. .
mind set,
leaving no doubt.
You
see me from the inside out.
